Factors such as studio production, the role of the producer and the recording engineer have also been altered drastically in music by technology. Major labels control most of the market which is why we have a lot of what we call mainstream music. If you look up the definition of technology you will see the words industry and commerce, which to me just means growth and development. Technology has and will continue to influence growth and development in the music Industry. With the growth of technology, the technical end of producing and engineering has become somewhat a quicker task.
